Discipleship Family Ministry

At St. Eugene, following the guidelines of the  Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, the 2 year journey  towards Confirmation is part of our high  school Discipleship Family Ministry. Surrounded by their peers, students in 9th & 10th grades form small  communities of faith where they break open the Word of God in Scripture, study and reinforce the teachings of the Church, share their experiences of God in their lives and participate in worship and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.

These sessions will take place on Wednesday nights for Adoration, praise and worship,
catechesis, games, small group sharing and service.

Candidates AND THEIR PARENTS will meet on  Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 PM. In the fall of 2020 we will be hosting the sessions live as well as ZOOM. Families will make their own small groups for  discussions whether in Ross Hall or at home to allow for safe social distancing. The sessions begin in  October with breaks that coordinate with the regular school year calendar. Regular class attendance is  important as it helps foster relationships within the small community of faith. Additionally, the Diocese requires one retreat per year as well as 10 service hours per year. If a candidate misses more than 3 classes in one year, than that year may need to be repeated.

Candidates MUST attend Sunday Mass each week (according to the Dioscesan guidelines) and are encouraged to read their Bibles each day as part of their daily prayer life.

REGISTRATION forms can be found online on the Confirmation page. Both Year 1 & Year 2 must register each year. Registration also requires the following forms from the Archdiocese: Form A, a Media Release, and a COVID release. Meetings are presented in English on Wednesdays. If parents prefer sessions in Spanish, they will attend with their child on Zoom on Thursday nights from 7:30 PM – 9 PM. To be eligible to enroll, youth must have either attended RE classes for the past 2 years, attended high school RE classes or attended Catholic school. Youth who do not meet this requirements will be enrolled in high school RE and begin the Confirmation 2 year Preparation Process the following year.

​EVERY PARENT WITH THEIR CHILD MUST ATTEND ONE BEGINNING SESSION.

During this time, they will receive their materials as well as instructions on this new format. Please register for a “BEGINNING SESSION” ON SignUp Genius. These
