Thanks to the support of many generous and faithful Catholics in our parish, St. Eugene has grown tremendously over its past 64 years. We have constructed a new elementary and middle school building, a new church, a new rectory, and improved many other areas of our campus.
With funds generously pledged during the 2019 capital effort, St. Eugene began addressing parish needs once again, first by improving accessibility to the church. Parishioners are now enjoying closer parking, sidewalks, a garden and prayer area, and improved church access with automated entry and exit areas.
However, the long east-west corridor containing most of the parish meeting rooms and offices was built more than 40 years ago. Much of that space is now occupied by our early childhood program and needs our attention.
The heart of St. Eugene is the people who gather to worship, to learn, to love and to serve Christ! We are a diverse, faithful community of more than 2,400 families committed to growing closer to Jesus.
Plans for the next phase of our campus development are critically needed and will foster parish vitality in two important ways.
First, we will build a new, secure and developmentally appropriate education space for our thriving early childhood program, enhancing our ability to welcome young families.
This will allow us to repurpose and refresh rooms in the main parish hallway, gaining critically important ministry meeting space for all to enjoy.
New Early Childhood Center - A dedicated Early Childhood Center will open up new spots in pre-k and kindergarten. Designed with the newest school safety features and a nurturing environment in mind, the facility will be built on our western boundary along Greystone Avenue. It will include classrooms, a multipurpose area and space for outdoor learning; a staff work space will double as a storm shelter.
Refreshed Meeting Spaces - Because of space constraints, we cannot currently fill the requests for small groups to gather for Bible studies, sacramental preparation, fellowship, outreach, and more. Relocating early childhood programs to a new space will allow us to refresh and make available approximately 10,000 square feet and 8 rooms along the main parish hallway. Providing for small groups to meet during the day is a critical step to increasing the vibrancy of our parish community and living out our shared mission to help each other grow in faith.
St. Eugene is flourishing in many ways, but we need more space to continue to form parishioners of all ages - from the youngest among us to those who helped lay the first brick 64 years ago.
We are excited about the future of this dynamic Catholic community and thank you for your willingness to learn how you might help. This next step is essential for all of us growing together in Christ.
Thanks to generous families like yours, St. Eugene has secured more than $5.8 million in cash and pledges toward this effort. This includes outstanding pledges from our pre-pandemic effort as well as recent new and extended commitments.
Please consider a sacrificial, multi-year commitment over five years—beginning now or at the completion of your current pledge. Every gift matters!
Please prayerfully consider how you can be part of revitalizing our space to give the Lord more room to work within and among us as One Church Growing Together.
Gifts can be made online (below) or by completing and returning a pledge card.
