The St. Eugene Seniors endeavor to minister to the specific needs of parishioners who are older than 59 years, which are not addressed by other ministries. All eligible parishioners are considered members. There are no dues.
We meet each month on the 2nd Friday at noon in one of the Meeting Rooms for lunch, for planning the programs for the period ahead, for reporting the status of our members who are not well, and for general sociability. All members are invited and encouraged to attend.
Our social program includes:
- Coffee and doughnuts once a month, the third Wednesday at 9:30 AM, at Daylight Doughnuts, Penn and Hefner.
- Sunday brunch at various restaurants in the area.
- Visits to places of interest which can be done in a single day, e.g. The Old Cathedral, Bricktown, Ponca City, Cowboy Hall of Fame, etc.
- Overnight bus trips, e.g. Branson, Ft. Smith, etc,
- Religious projects include:
- Days of prayer/recollection, followed by a meal.
- Masses for Anointing the Sick, usually with a lunch
- Stewardship projects include:
- Providing rides to church for disabled parishioners;
- Greeting cards to the sick;
- Birthday cards to those members who fit an age requirement
