Design Committee Mission Statement

 

As members of the Design Committee of St. Eugene Catholic Church, we humbly ask for the Wisdom and Courage of the Holy Spirit as we seek to represent the needs of our community, and work to raise up a holy place where God’s Word and Sacrament will nourish the faith of His people and where His presence will make them holy.

Feb. 3 & 10, 2007             Interviewed short-listed architects

Feb. 2007                          Series of educational talks at Masses

Feb. 20 - Mar. 8, 2007       Interviewed architect finalists; due diligence underway

Mar. 20, 2007                   Architectural Design Group selected as architect; Schematic Design Phase begins

April 12, 2007                    Reception and information/feedback session with seniors

April - May 2007                Parish Survey administered

May 5, 2007                       “Gaming” session held to explore site and floor plan options

May 20, 2007                     Information/feedback session (Spanish)

June 3, 2007                    Parish Town Hall Meeting

Sept. 9, 2007                    Schematic Design Complete

 

What we are doing …

·         A professional cost estimator is preparing a cost estimate for the schematic design.

·         The architects of ADG are beginning to consult with engineering firms to estimate requirements for heating & cooling and acoustics and lighting.

·         The Design Committee is researching options for stained glass and other artwork for the new church.

 

What we’ll do next …

September 2007               Cost Estimate of Schematic Design;
Early fundraising commences

October 2007                   Design Development Phase begins

November 2007               Formal discernment / Parish commitment;
General fundraising commences

January 2008                   Design Development Phase complete
